Today’s photo of the day is not one, but three photos that I took this morning of a Jindo Gae I met on my walk.  The poor thing was so abused and so desperate to be petted that when I began petting it, it peed all over the ground.  It was quite ecstatic to be getting positive attention.

From time to time I advertise various Jindos in shelters that I find out about through the Jindo rescue I sometimes work with.  Today I got an email from them mentioning that the Pasadena, CA shelter is at capacity and will be euthanizing some of their dogs soon to create more space.  They recently received an abandoned red Jindo who is looking for ( Read more... )

It turns out that the monks at Sangyesa have two Jindos: a male and a female that is currently nursing a litter of puppies. They're both very sweet, and next time I visit I want to see if the mother will let me near her puppies. I doubt it, but it's worth a shot. I know some of you have expressed interest in owning a Jindo here in the US. Well, I am on all the Jindo rescue/adoption lists, and I have decided that when I see one without “issues”, I will link to it here.  They’re an extremely rare and unknown breed in the US, so they need all the exposure they can get.
